Toni McGowan is a musician based in Seattle, WA. Her passion for everything musical began with studying violin at age 5, and it kept growing as she later picked up guitar and piano. In 2017 she received her Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Cornish College of the Arts, where she also studied composition and arranging with amazing musicians such as Jim Knapp, Randy Halberstadt, Jovino Santos-Neto, and Johnaye Kendrick.
After graduating, Toni has been working full-time as a private voice and piano teacher. She has also done several commissioned compositions, her latest being the “Salish Sea Suite” for the Lakeside School Symphony Orchestra. She has also played a number of shows around the Seattle area, either solo or with the band Drea and the Marilyns, at venues such as The Sunset, Stoneway Cafe, The Olympic Hotel, Darrell’s Tavern, and more.
Toni McGowan contributes a revitalizing mixture of all her interests into her performance. Whether it’s lyrics that reflect a deeply personal internal conflict or a piece with strange instrumentation about the neighborhood dogs she’s met, she shares with her audience the experiences the world brings her.
